Panel Discussion: "Quality Assurance and Institutional Excellence: Gulf Colleges as a Model"


Under the patronage of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Mohammed bin Dhafer Al-Dosari, and in the presence of the Dean of the Colleges, Dr. Bader bin Ali Al-Shahri, Gulf Colleges organized a panel discussion titled "Quality Assurance and Institutional Excellence: Gulf Colleges as a Model" in celebration of World Quality Day 2024. The event was targeted at all members of the colleges. It aimed to highlight the importance of quality assurance and institutional excellence as key pillars in Gulf Colleges' approach to continuous improvement and success.

The panel discussion included three main topics. The first topic, titled "The Journey of Quality and Accreditation at Gulf Colleges: Leadership Support and Achievements," was presented by the Vice Dean of the Colleges, Dr. Sultan Al-Harbi. He reviewed the colleges' journey and major achievements in meeting quality assurance standards, with continuous leadership support and follow-up. The second topic, "Quality and Graduate Specifications: The Law Program as a Model," was presented by the Head of the Law Department, Dr. Hossam Mohamed Morsi. He highlighted the role of quality in enhancing educational outcomes and developing skills that meet labour market demands. The third topic, titled "Ensuring the Quality of Academic Programs: Concepts and Practices," was presented by the Director of the Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Unit, Mr. Abdel-Sabour Abdel-Aziz. He focused on concepts and practices related to quality assurance and accreditation processes. He also focused on how to align theoretical and practical aspects of quality assurance in academic programs. At the end of the event, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Mohammed bin Dhafer Al-Dosari, praised the Kingdom's efforts in the education sector. He emphasized the vital and pioneering role of this sector in the nation's development. He also commended the large attendance of students, faculty members, and staff, reflecting the academic community's commitment to quality assurance and institutional excellence.
