About the Unit:

The Guidance & Counseling Unit at The Gulf College was established as an urgent and essential need to monitor and support the adaptation and development of students. This is achieved through the provision of effective and capable programs to offer specialized counseling guidance services. These services cover academic, social, psychological, and behavioral aspects, activating communication with all stakeholders within the college. The unit aims to assist students from the first day, starting with the orientation week, to enlighten their path in both academic and personal journeys. It promotes their continuous communication with the counselor through defined and facilitated mechanisms..

Providing counseling services to students that contribute to the development of their academic and social personalities, fostering the growth of their skills in various fields in accordance with international quality standards at the college.

 Unit's Objectives



The Counseling & Guidance Unit aims to translate the college's aspirations into assisting students in understanding their academic, psychological, and behavioral challenges. The unit is committed to addressing these challenges effectively, resulting in the graduation of a generation equipped with knowledge, faith, self-confidence, and the ability to contribute to the country's development. This is achieved through the following objectives:

  • Orienting new students to understand the college system through counseling and guidance programs.
  • Assisting students in choosing the appropriate major based on their abilities and academic interests.
  • Helping students select suitable courses according to the academic plan.
  • Encouraging high-achieving students to further their accomplishments and directing them towards utilizing their abilities and potentials in fields aligned with their practical interests.
  • Assisting students with special needs in overcoming academic challenges and supporting their academic achievements.
  • Disseminating awareness of academic regulations among students and aiding them in understanding curriculum plans and systems.
  • Enhancing the psychological and emotional well-being of students facing psychological disorders that impact their academic achievements.
  • Reducing the potential risks of students falling into psychological, social, and behavioral problems.
  • Monitoring academically struggling students and assisting them in acquiring the necessary skills to increase their academic achievements.
  • Providing preventive counseling services by addressing difficulties that students may face and taking measures to prevent them.
