Community partnership in the field of education, and higher education in particular, is a crucial aspect of community engagement and awareness. It reflects the community's initiative, taken by societal institutions and individuals, to contribute to meeting the needs of society. In this context, the Gulf College in Hafar Al-Batin is committed to openness towards its surrounding environment, forming relationships and partnerships based on the principle of mutual interests, and providing services that meet the needs of the local community. Unit's Objectives
The objectives of The Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainable Development Unit:
- Enhance an interactive and reciprocal culture for the concept of community service and community partnership among the college staff and the community members and institutions.
- Establish channels of communication that interact with various community sectors and provide services to ensure full benefits in community development and fruitful partnerships.
- Prepare a detailed database of community services, government, and private facilities in the region, identifying their needs and requirements.
- Activate obtaining grants, donations, and creating entities and funding for joint research with external organizations, providing a suitable environment for collaboration and participation in improving university education.
- Direct research conducted by faculty members or students towards community problems and issues, providing therapeutic proposals and solutions.
- Provide opportunities for the local community to benefit from the college's resources and expertise, given its leading role as a major educational institution in the region capable of leading in thinking, research, development, and community work.
- Translate needs into scientific and educational activities in the college's surrounding environment.
- Train graduates to identify and deal with community problems and solve them through campaigns and field visits.
- Evaluate the extent of faculty participation in community services.
